Tesla In-Car Customization: Wireless App Upload & USB Guide

Learn how to wirelessly push custom wraps from your phone to in-car Paint Shop, format classic USB drives, and install custom lock sounds.

STEP 01

Download Wrap Image

Browse and download your favorite wrap from Tewan. Save the PNG original to your phone gallery (<1MB).

Save the original file directly to prevent messaging apps from re-compressing it.

STEP 02

Select in Tesla App

In the Tesla App, navigate to "Creations" -> "Wraps" -> "Upload", and select the downloaded PNG.

STEP 03

Preview & Sync

Check the rendered 3D preview, tap "Upload & Apply Wrap", and it syncs wirelessly to your car screen.

No local Wi-Fi required; cellular remote push works seamlessly.

Important Notes & Limitations:

• Cannot delete or manage wraps in mobile app: Currently the official Tesla App only supports one-way upload, without options to rename or delete past uploads.

• Vehicle screen capacity & cleanup: The vehicle screen can store up to 10 custom wraps. To remove older wraps and free up slots, long-press or delete them directly on your Tesla center screen in Toybox -> Paint Shop.

Why is there no "Creations - Wraps" entry in my Tesla App?▼

This feature requires your Tesla vehicle firmware to be version 2026.26 or higher, and the official Tesla Mobile App to be v4.59.0 or higher. If your vehicle has not yet received this OTA rollout, you can continue using the classic USB Flash Drive import method without issue.

How to delete or manage old wraps? Can I delete them in Tesla Mobile App?▼

Tesla Mobile App currently DOES NOT support deleting or managing uploaded wraps. The car system stores up to 10 custom wraps. To delete or clear old wraps, you must do so directly on the car touchscreen inside "Toybox" -> "Paint Shop".

Why does the wrap not appear on the car screen after uploading?▼

1. Verify the file is pure PNG (<1MB). Avoid forwarding images through chat apps that convert PNG to compressed JPEG. 2. For USB import, ensure the folder name is strictly capitalized as "Wraps" in the root directory. 3. Ensure your vehicle has stable cellular connectivity for OTA sync.

Why is the "USB" lock sound option greyed out or unselectable?▼

Ensure the audio file is located strictly in the root directory of the USB drive (not inside Wraps or TeslaCam folders). The file must be named exactly "LockChime.wav" (case-sensitive) and under 1MB in WAV format.

Do custom wraps affect vehicle warranty, cameras, or system safety?▼

No. The Paint Shop and custom lock chime features are 100% official native functions provided by Tesla. They only change the digital 3D model visualization on your screen and the external speaker sound, without modifying any core firmware.

How does Tewan guarantee wrap quality and dimension alignment?▼

Every wrap on Tewan is mapped to official Tesla 3D CAD unwrapped UV templates tailored specifically for each model (Model 3 Legacy/2024, Model Y Legacy/2025+, Cybertruck, etc.). All designs undergo high-resolution WebGL 3D preview validation before release.
